Job Overview
Provide professional nursing care to hospital patients across inpatient, emergency department, and treatment-room settings. The Hospital RN assesses patient needs, develops and manages individualized plans of care, administers treatments and medications, and works collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide safe, quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients, identify nursing needs, and develop and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Provide nursing care to inpatient, emergency department, and treatment-room patients.
- Administer medications, IVs, blood products, and treatments according to provider orders and established procedures.
- Monitor and report significant changes in patient condition to providers and appropriate supervisors.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Provide education and support to patients and families.
- Delegate appropriate tasks and provide direction and supervision to LPNs and CNAs when assigned.
- Maintain accurate documentation and medication administration records.
- Follow patient safety, infection control, HIPAA, and quality standards.
Qualificiations
Required Qualifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certified
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associate degree, diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Current Nebraska RN license.
- BLS certification required within one month of hire.
- Ability to assess patient needs, prioritize care, communicate effectively, and provide compassionate care to those we serve and work with.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of acute care nursing experience.
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC experience or certification preferred; required within the first year of hire.
